C.E.R.T.S. Scanner Module

The Scanner Module lets you speed up your data entry and significantly reduces you work load.

Present day Optical Character Recognition (OCR) is still an imperfect science, and some values are simply not interpreted correctly. For this reason our CERTS Scanner Module ties directly into the CERTS Database, where information from the scanned Acord Form is validated against existing data in your CERTS Database.

For instance Producers or Insurance Companies may already be in your Database. So if this information is not found in your CERTS Database it will be displayed with a yellow background, while information that is found will be displayed with a white background.

This makes validation and correction easer and quicker.

The Scanner Module requires a quality scanner like the HP 8250 along with the latest version (15 or higher)
of Omni Page. And as with all CERTS modules it also requires Microsoft Access.

Scanner Edit Screen

The top portion of your edit screen will look something like the following.

(Click on screen to expand view)

Information that is not found in the CERTS database will have a yellow background. In this way you know what exists in your database verses what is new.

If the item is found in the CERTS Database the the background turns white

However, many times text is different in your database from that that was on the Acord Form. So you always have the option to do lookups in the database.

The coverage screen is viewed by scrolling down on the edit screen (it looks just like the Acord Form)..

(Click on screen to expand view)

Any coverage's that are missing or insufficient are flagged in RED.

Double clicking on any field will tell you what the coverage should be.

Saving a Scanned Certificate

When editing the scanned Acord Form an attempt is made to find the Contract for this Supplier.
If found then the Contract ID and Originator are displayed.
If certificates exist for this Contract they are also displayed.

You can replace this Certificate if it is a replacement, or you can start a new Certificate.
When needed you can simply skip the processing of the Certificate.
